Barely back from my trip to the Müritz region (Mecklenburger Seenplatte), I'm continuing to work on my images.

"Virtual Reality" won't let go of me

now things get properly abstract

Long before "Necrolog," I started another project: "Power Flowers." This is a very special project. What makes it special: it's a joint work with my wife, who took the original photographs of the flowers — photographs she herself now barely recognizes. Cutting out, abstraction, editing, and backgrounds are then my contribution.

A first taste:

After a longer break — in the meantime I was traveling for three weeks (Vogtland, Erzgebirge, Spreewald, with a side trip to the Black Forest) — with numerous exhibition visits and great conversations — I'm back.

This is the first "finished" image, created as part of my series "Necrolog" (SIC). Shot in the studio. The stem of a rose — naturally wilted over about two weeks. The theme "Necrolog" will keep me occupied for a while. It will be a eulogy for all manner of plants and their parts. The plants wilt — but their beauty remains unchanged.
